Requirement - something a system must do or characteristic it must have
Functional Requirement - What the software must do
Non-functional Requirement - What characteristic of the system must have

How to ask questions
- Be on ambiguous
- Get straight to the point
- Only ask questions to one person
- Remain consistent through-out your questions
JAD (Joint Application Development)
- The developer and stakeholders will have a meeting to determine what the requirements are
How to discover requirements
- Conduct an interview
- Analyse the specification or other documents
- Observe customers that are operating the application for
- Submit questionnaire
- JAD

How to create your requirements list
- Requirements must be discovered
- The requirement must be classified as either functional or non-functional
- The severity of the requirement must be identified as either must have should have or could have
- The requirement must be fully documented, all nuances about it all identified
